Sometimes you might start building a lot and realize you need a little bit more space for an extra room or a larger pool. Or maybe, you downloaded a lot and want to expand the backyard for that greenhouse you always wanted. Well, luckily, it is possible to move a build to a larger lot. However, please note that you can only move smaller lots to larger lots – you cannot downsize (or not easily, at least).
How to move a build to a larger lot:
Let’s start with the easier option, moving your build to a larger lot.
Step 1: To save from a smaller lot to a larger lot, click on the Share button in the top toolbar and click save lot.
Step 2: Go the lot you want to place this larger on. Click on gallery tab, my library and select the lot you just saved. You can now place the lot anywhere you want on the larger lot. Just make sure that if you used the bb.moveobjects cheat while working on the build, activate the cheat again when moving the lot. See here for more details.
How to move a build to a smaller lot:
Now, to save a larger build onto a smaller lot, the actual building (not including the yard/areas around the actual build) will have to fit on the smaller lot. This method is quite tedious and might take you quite a while, but it will work. You have to save the entire build room by room. To make it easier, you can also delete a few walls between rooms to make it seem like one room. Once you have done this and are sure about what the building should look like, you can go to the smaller lot. Now, you place the rooms one-by-one from your gallery and place them on the lot. Eventually, you will have the building from the larger lot on your desired smaller lot.
